Underwriting procedures for War and Civil Harzards risk zones

All request for cover needs authorisation from ETI – Sales & Underwriting or Managing Director and Authorised Representative. Cover is only provided to Corporate Clients, i.e. not to Leisure Clients or Educational Clients (School trips). Accompanying family cover cannot be offered (Corporate Travel Insurance).

Cover is only provided to current clients, or new clients who are granting ETI its complete Corporate Travel Insurance (CTI) portfolio. The “normal” Corporate Travel Insurance schedule and Proposal Form is the basis for a “normal” standard CTI cover, which do not (cannot) include War Risk and Civil Hazard areas.

All requests for War Risk and Civil Hazard cover shall be submitted by the client on an ad hoc (trip by trip) basis and if accepted are subject to a minimum premium of:

£250, War zone
£150, High risk area

(Per cover – unless more trips are reported in the same time, if so the minimum premium applies per Schedule).

The client reporting shall include names of travelling employees, dates of departure, dates of return and dates of regional travels during the total period of travelling, hereunder specification of destination (s). The client should also indicate the nature of the work, purpose of travel etc.

The premium shall be based on the highest level of risk area in accordance with ETI’s War Risk and Civil Hazard list valid at the point in time.

The Policy schedule shall be endorsed to say:

  • If the Risk profile changes during the travel period, ETI may adjust the premium pro rata.
  • The Policyholder shall report any changes to the travel pattern notified.
  • Repatriation and/or Medical Evacuation, Medical Escort and Provision of Screened Blood cannot be guaranteed undertaken immediately in all cases, depending on the risk involved for the personnel undertaking the assignment and whether any organisation is willing to perform the task. Often the initial evacuation is performed by Military forces in the area.
